Built in 1933, the extravagant 94-acre Pines Resort in New York’s Catskill mountains had 400 guest rooms, a golf course, tennis courts, a ski chalet, an ice rink, two swimming pools, a nightclub, and a theater. It closed in 1998 when a developer bought the property but that developer went bankrupt, as did a possible future for the property.
