Teufelsberg (German for Devil’s Mountain) was a post WWII ally-run spy center built on an artificial mountain in West Berlin. The giant geodesic domes were once full of state-of-the-art satellites designed to pick up signals from the Soviets. The biggest hill in Berlin, Teufelsberg was built out of the debris of destroyed buildings, of which there was no shortage. Buried deep under the hill lies a Nazi college that was so indestructible that burying it was the only way to destroy it, hence the name Devil’s Mountain.
