Paper Trail

The former village of Leaside, once isolated from the city until it eventually was swallowed by East York, and later Toronto itself, was a pre-planned railway village established by CN Railway. The residential/industrial village grew and was involved in war efforts for both World Wars. Today, hidden within box stores and housing developments, a smattering of the old buildings still remain.

Often buildings are abandoned so quickly no one bothers to pack anything up, not even paperwork full of employee information. I have found so many documents with people’s personal information like addresses and social insurance numbers. It’s a good thing I’m such a conscientious member of society.
