The 'out of service’ sticker is a bit of an understatement. Once a major power provider for Toronto, the enormous 650 thousand cubic meter power plant (that’s right, 650 thousand cubic meters, large enough to fit 12 Parthenons inside) has been more or less shut down since 1983. There have been plans to turn it into movie studios, condos, sports arenas, and more - all of which have been mothballed. Hailed as a “future jewel for the city", the power plant patiently awaits its fate.
