This stunning art nouveau mansion was built in the late 1800’s, when Bucharest culture and architecture was undergoing such a huge French influence that it became known as “Little Paris”. At the turn of the twentieth century it was donated to the state and became an antique museum. In the late 1940’s, after the communists came into power, it became a centre for archaeology. More or less empty since the fall of communism, today it sits in a state of disrepair. Efforts are being made to turn it back into a museum of archaeology but until it receives proper funding it will remain a beautiful relic of a time long passed.
